Annie Leibovitz Commissioned by the UBS Bank to Do a New Series of Portraits

The USB Bank in Switzerland recently announced that it will commission US photographer Annie Leibovitz to do a new series of portraits of famous women. In 1999 Leibovitz did a series that she titled "Women" which included portraits of Louis Bourgeois, Hillary Clinton, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Gloria Steinem. This new project, which will have the same title as the 1999 series, will be exhibited in London at the beginning of 2016. Throughout that year, it will travel to Tokyo, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico City, Istanbul, Frankfurt, New York and Zurich. Admission for these exhibitions will be free of charge. UBS's office of public relations told ARTnews that "The new 'Women' portraits will document the ways that women's roles are changing in a society where feminism has recently come to the forefront."
