A Painting by Pedro Figari was Stolen

The oil on cardboard painting entitled Lavanderas (Washerwomen) by artist Pedro Figari Solari (1861-1938), was stolen in Montevideo from the office of City¿s Mayor Ana Olivera. The work measures 35 × 50 centimeters. The painting was taken from the office three months ago while the space was under renovation. But after the revamping was completed the area of the wall vacated by the painting was filled will another artwork. Nonetheless, it was not until three weeks ago that someone noticed that the painting was missing. The estimated value of the painting is 300,000.00 USD. There is still no information leading to its whereabouts, nor any clues that point to any potential suspects.
