2nd Biennial of Painting

The second edition of the Biennial of Painting in Guayaquíl was inaugurated on April 28, 2010. The event presents works by artists from 25 countries, including Cuba, the U.S., Italy, Turkey, Panama, Honduras, France, Argentina, Israel, and Kosovo. It will remain open through June 28. Nearly 300 works by national and international artists were submitted for participation in the 2nd Biennial of Painting in Guayaquíl. The winning works will come from the 64 paintings selected. The prizes are: $20,000 USD for the First Prize; $10,000 USD for the Second Prize, and $5,000 USD, for the Third Prize. The jury, comprised of Joseph Roberts from the U.S., Argentine Alejandra Rossetti, and Ecuadorians Theo Constante, Larissa Marangoni, and Mariela García, will also grant five Honourable Mentions.
