2011 Grand Painting Prize ARTECLASICA

The Centro de Exposiciones Costa Salguero and ARTECLASICA 11, the Buenos Aires Modern and Contemporary Art Fair, call visual artists to participate in the 2011 Grand Painting Prize, as part of the scheduled activities of the eighth edition of ARTECLASICA that will take place on July 13 through the 18 of 2011, at Pavilions 1 and 2 of the Centro Costa Salguero in the city of Buenos Aires. The call is open to Argentine or international visual artists, of any age, who reside in Argentina. Only one work per artist -centered on any theme and created by any technique- may be entered. The works cannot exceed 120 cm (47.24 inches) wide by 120 cm (47.24 inches) high. Participants must submit a professionally printed color photograph of the work that measures no more than 13 × 18 cm (5.11 × 7.08 in.), with an information label on the back that includes the following information: work title, technique used, actual measurements, the year in which the work was created, and the artist's information (name and last name, address, telephone, and email). The deadline to submit all photographic material is May 15, 2011. The material must be presented at the offices of ARTECLASICA -located at Valentín Gómez 3071 3er. piso, Buenos Aires- Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm. It can be sent in person or by mail. Participants will compete to win an acquisition prize of 10,000 Argentine pesos, a medal, and a diploma. The winning work will become part of the Colección Centro Costa Salguero de Arte Contemporáneo. All awarded works will be exhibited in a special stand at ARTECLASICA 11.
