The Fundación Fondo de Cultura de Sevilla (Focus-Abengoa) announces its call for participation in the 2011 Focus-Abengoa Painting Prize. The call is open to national and international artists over the age of 18 who have not previously received any prize in earlier editions of this competition. Candidates may submit one sole original work created between 2010 and 2011 whose dimensions are at least 73 x 60 cm (28.7 x 23.6 inches) and no more than 200 x 200 cm (78.7 x 78.7 inches). Participants may use any technique and focus on any theme. Additionally, candidates must complete the application form available at the competition's official homepage and also submit a brief C.V. (one page max.) that includes the person's academic history, his/her participation in any other competitions and any awards received, a color photograph of the work that will be entered in the competition, two photographs of other works created by the person and one copy of the person¿s government issued ID. The paperwork must be sent before September 20, 2011 to the foundation¿s headquarters located at Hospital de los Venerables 8, 41004, Seville, Spain. The 2011 Focus-Abengoa International Painting Prize offers a total purse of 36,000.00 euros.
