Thanks to the support of Banco Exerior, the Sala Mendoza presented the 12th edition of the Eugenio Mendoza Award.
Curated by Diana López, under the coordination of Patricia Velasco and museographer Matilde Sánches, artists Suwon Lee, Oscar Abraham, Lucía Pizzani, Ernesto Klar, Juan Pablo Garza, Iván Candeo, Starsky Brines, Irene Bou, Ana Alenso, Emilio Narciso and Mairyseth Vargas entered their projects.
Formed by artist Adrián Pujol and curators and researchers Lorena González and Gerardo Zavarce, the jury was entrusted to select the winner of a residency in Hangar, Centro de Producción e Investgación en Artes Visuales, in Barcelona, Spain.
Once a decision was reached, it was determined that the winner for the 12th edition of the Eugenio Mendoza Award was Lucía Pizzani for her work entitled De la Desconocida del Sena y Otras Ofelias (About the Unknown Woman of the Seine and other Ofelias). A Second Place was granted to Iván Candeo for his piece El Accidente del Tiempo (The Accident of Time), and an Honorable Mention went to Emilio Narciso for his work entitled Memorias de Venezuela (Memories of Venezuela).
