The Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM), organizer of Taiwan's representation at the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026, announced that artist Yi-Fan Li and the TFAM team have invited Raphael Fonseca (Brazil, 1988), the current curator of Latin American Modern and Contemporary Art at the Denver Art Museum (DAM) in the United States, to serve as curator of Taiwan's exhibition in 2026.
Fonseca, a curator of the new Brazilian generation active on the international scene, will engage in a dialogue with Yi-Fan Li, an artist of the same generation, in a collaboration that crosses regions and cultures. The exhibition will address the contemporary dilemma of information and image overload, reflecting on the complex relationships and dialectics between humanity and technology.
Holding a Ph.D. in Art History and Criticism from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Raphael Fonseca has gained widespread international recognition for his curatorial work in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
